Using 'invisible' TABLES to organise the layout of the text and/ or photos on a web page
Click on 'Manage my pages'
Double click on the page to access
change this one
To insert a table, click the Table icon
The Insert Table window will appear.
Type in the number of Columns and Rows required.
Type in the 'width' of the table as 100% unless otherwise required.
Using the drop-down menu, set the Table Position
Note: For an invisible table the table border is set as 0.
However if the table needs to be seen, the border width can be set as 1 or 2 etc. depending on how wide is needed.
Click the ADVANCED tab
Using the drop-down menu, set the Language Direction
Note: The Border Colour and Back-ground Colour may be set at this time, if relevant
Note: the table can be modified in various ways.
For example two cells may be merged into one by
• drag the cursor across the cells concerned
• Then click the Merge icon
Note: above the bottom cells are now combined.
Also if extra rows or columns are needed the are icons to do so
For example:
• Click INTO the part of the table required (1)
•
Click the relevant icon (2)
• See the resultant change (3)
Then add in the Text as require.
NOTE:
To manage text, hold down the SHIFT KEY whilst entering the RETURN / ENTER to make a HARD return at the end of each line.
This creates a SINGLE LINE return.
Whereas using the RETURN/ ENTER creates a TWO line break.
Note: The back-ground section can be coloured by highlighting the required section
