Brisbane Bayside Marriage Celebrant
A Range of Ceremonies
|
Gillian absolutely made our wedding day perfect.
Prior to the big day, Gillian met with us several times to ask about
how we met and how we felt about each other. Gillian took our stories
and wrote a beautiful and elegant ceremony that was so personal to us
and so special. Several guests at our wedding actually asked us for
Gillian's details for their own weddings as she had done such a great
job, so that is high praise! Gillian not only made our day special,
but also helped us to prepare with lots of ideas, tips and hints for
ensuring not only the day was perfect, but that we were prepared for
our marriage. We talked with several celebrants prior to choosing.
Gillian and we are so happy with our choice. Thank you Gillian for
a great day, and we hope to see you at the weddings of our friends in
the future.
Best Regards, Mike and Tammie.

Commitment Ceremonies
Marriage between same sex couples is not yet legal in Australia.
Even so, many couples decide to hold a Commitment Ceremony
during which their love for each other can be publicly acknowledged and celebrated. Such a ceremony is as important as a wedding and is an opportunity to honor this partnership not only to each other but to friends and family.
The celebration can involve the exchange of vows, rings and rituals to make the event significant, enjoyable and a memory to cherish.
Baby Namings
Having a baby is a major event in a couple's life. Having a naming ceremony is an opportunity for your family and friends to celebrate and share the naming of the child and welcome the child to the world. The celebration is a bonding experience and those who will have a role in the child's life such as grandparents, aunts, uncles, guardians, mentors and friends can be officially acknowledged or appointed. The occasion can also be an opportunity for a couple to share the reason why they have chosen a particular name. Siblings, if of an age to do so, can be involved by reading a poem or giving a reading.
Renewal of Vows and Special Anniversaries
Couples who wish to renew their wedding vows can coordinate the event to coincide with a family reunion, milestone birthday or a significant anniversary. The ceremony can take place anywhere from a beach, a park, a restaurant, on horseback or in a boat or at home according to the couple's preference.
Funerals
A funeral conducted by a civil celebrant is not a religious ceremony although it can have spiritual elements.
Choosing to have a ceremony conducted by a civil celebrant means that it will be a celebration of the life of the deceased drawing upon the individual's achievements and special qualities.
Another key element is that the friends and family's culture and philosophies determine the shape and content as opposed to the ideology of the person conducting the funeral.
The emphasis is on creating a warm tribute. Such an event is comforting for those who are grieving and is a formalised and important demonstration of love and respect for the deceased.
Special occasions can also be created to mark the death of a much loved animal
