I am often invited by couples I have married to officiate at the naming ceremony for their children. This is a wonderful vote of confidence in the way I conducted their marriage ceremony.
Of course, I don't have to have married you to conduct your child's naming ceremony!
A naming is not a christening, although regarded as such by many people – it is the means by which the young child is introduced into its family, circle of friends and the wider world as a person.
Because a baby or young child is involved, I will always visit the family in their home to meet the child and discuss their plans for the service. I will suggest the framework for the service and what readings should be included. Naming Certificates for the parents, god- parents and sometimes grandparents are presented, as well as a bound copy of the service.

This is becoming increasingly popular at the significant milestones of a marriage. It becomes a great family celebration, and is often a gift of love from the children to their parents. Where possible, I will use the words which were spoken at the wedding ceremony. A Renewal of Vows Certificate is presented with a bound copy of the service.

In our secular society, the content of a Farewell Service for a loved one is a very personal choice. If you feel uncomfortable with the ritual of an established religion, a civil funeral may be best for your family. You can then include your choice of music, verse or readings and I will assist you in providing the framework for your loved one’s service. I am familiar with most ethnic funeral customs, and my military background enables me to provide a dignified service funeral with the appropriate marks of respect.
Again, a bound copy of the Funeral  Service is presented to the family.

The death of a beloved pet is very traumatic, and some help in coming to a formal closure is often necessary. I will work with the relevant pet burial company to achieve a respectful  goodbye service for your pet.
