You can expect a professional civil celebrant’s fee to be substantially higher than that charged by the registry office. 

When one considers those who will be officiating are paid government staff from whom there will be “no frills” and “no choice”.  They don’t travel nor do they have any extraneous costs to incur in respect of running their own office and meeting other extraneous costs as in registering your marriage and arranging for an official marriage certificate to be sent to you by Births, Deaths and Marriages.  

At the outset, I provide a fixed quote based on your specific needs and the particular circumstances of your wedding.    This is set out in my Terms and Conditions c and ontract with you at which point any extra costs are identified and pointed out to you.

My quoted fee is inclusive of the following:

• • • * Initial consultation in celebrant’s office and identifying documents required
• * Making sure all paperwork is properly completed, signed and witnessed
• * Unlimited email/phone contact for the duration of my consultancy
• * Postage, fax and phone costs within Australia
• * Producing drafts of ceremony and establishing a final script to your satisfaction
• * Commemorative copies of ceremony script and certificate
• * Lodgment of appropriate documents with BDM to register the marriage
• * Request and payment of “standard” official certificate
• * Conducting a ceremony rehearsal/familiarisation of venue if required 2-3 weeks prior to actual ceremony
• * Presentation of ceremony on “the” day
• * Provision of presentation lectern (I have found this to be an option for signing as well). Some outdoor venues do not lend themselves to sitting down at a table and chairs.  If the ceremony is conducted indoors, or you wish to sit down at a decorated table and chairs for the signing, then the onus to provide them rests with my clients
• *  Any costs associated with entry/permits, etc. are to be borne by clients
• * Provision of PA system and soft background music  if required (we can play your special song(s) if you provide the original CDs
• * We reserve the right to claim expenses/fees connected with any of the above requiring any unconventional risk/time/travel/park fees, etc. 
  *   I apply for a “standard” official certificate to issue to you from BDM.  Decorative official certificates and other personalised documents are the responsibility of clients.
